Boston Properties (BXP) was recently recognized by the Wildlife Habitat Council (WHC) with Gold Certification for its Carnegie Center business campus. Kennedy Jenks (KJ) is proud to have partnered with BXP to pursue WHC certification.
As a client at Carnegie Center in Princeton, New Jersey, KJ recognized that BXP developed the campus grounds with a focus on nature and ecologically conscious design. Members of our Natural Resource Management team in Princeton suggested that the property group pursue WHC certification for formal recognition of these efforts. With 20 years of experience developing and managing environmental stewardship programs on corporate campuses, KJ partnered with BXP to identify and document WHC-eligible projects on Carnegie Center’s campus. With Gold Tier certification awarded in 2023, BXP is continuing to pursue educational opportunities and outreach efforts to engage clients in the wildlife habitat projects on campus.
People spend around one-third of their lives at work. Natural landscaping can foster a connection to nature that makes people look forward to going to the office while also reducing stress, anxiety, and depression. For business campuses, the impact of WHC-certified programs on the environment extends to the increased work–life satisfaction of clients. KJ and BXP teamed up to develop a case study on the value of WHC certification for premier workplaces.
