Michael Lubovich Named to ENR Northwest Top Young Professionals List
Michael Lubovich, Vice President and Washington State Operations Manager, has been named an ENR Northwest Top Young Professional! This annual recognition honors rising stars in the engineering and construction industry across ten regions in the U.S. who are committed to community development, industry advancement, and excellence in their careers.
Since joining KJ in 2016, Lubovich has quickly advanced from Project Engineer to Client Director, ultimately being named Operations Manager for Washington State in 2020 and Vice President in 2022. Lubovich manages a portfolio of multimillion-dollar water and wastewater projects along the U.S. West Coast using traditional design-bid-build and design-build delivery methods. He is known for practicing strength-based leadership to build teams and drive collaboration.
His work focuses on improving reliability within the industry, creating risk-based water resource management and water system management plans, helping agencies prioritize projects for effective capital spend, and breaking down silos between designers and end-users by incorporating operations and maintenance perspectives into his projects.
Outside of work, Lubovich is active in giving back to the industry where he has found his home with groups such as American Water Works Association, Pacific Northwest (PNWS-AWWA) South Sound Subsection, holding numerous leadership positions over the last eight years. He currently serves on the PNWS-AWWA South Sound Subsection Board as Past Chair.
Lubovich also served three years on the Board of Directors for the Mount View-Edgewood Water Company, where he assisted in overseeing the design and construction of a new 1-million gallon water tank to improve water storage and supply. His volunteer activities are shaped by his desire to improve the industry and put his own knowledge and skills to use for others.
Lubovich is a registered Professional Engineer in Washington and Oregon and a certified Project Management Professional. He earned his BS in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Business from Gonzaga University.
